JOBBING CARPENTER

Purpose: To undertake a wide range of tasks and complete the apprenticeship to a high standard 
to meet the needs of the business in an efficient and effective way, ensuring maximum customer satisfaction at all times.

Specific duties and responsibilities

- Maintenance Work
- Variety of small job work
       - Fencing
       - Decks
       - Bathrooms
       - Insurance Work
       - Services Resource Jobs
- To assist on larger scale projects as and when required
- To carry our industry tasks as diligently, quickly, and effectively as possible
- Demonstrate interest in the specific industries work
- Be courteous and helpful to other contractors and the company’s clients
- Prepare materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, power saws, etc
- Operate and maintain equipment used in construction operations in a safe and efficient manner
- Utilising the company’s technology and systems to deliver tasks in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain all job record keeping and administration requirements as necessary
- Ensure all jobs are delivered on time to a high standard, taking personal responsibility for your work
- Performing Quality Control checks throughout the building and construction process so as to eliminate re-work
- Communicating with the supervisor and other employees appropriately, ensuring everyone is informed on all aspects of the jobs at hand
- Provide and maintain your own tools as required and always use them in a safe manner
- Using the company provided tools in a safe and respectful manner, and reporting any defects or maintenance requirements as they become evident

General duties and responsibilities

- Be punctual and work the hours and times specified
- Prioritise workload to ensure work of the greatest importance to the business is undertaken with urgency and to a high standard
- Support and help develop a positive workplace culture
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Responsibly manage all business resources within accountability levels
- Undertake all duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description and all other duties as required by the business
- Comply with all employment obligations
- Promptly undertake to complete all reasonable and lawful instructions and directions given
- Serve the business in good faith, promoting and protecting the business’ best interests
- During work time, a maximum effort to the execution and fulfillment of the duties, responsibilities, obligations, and instructions related to employment
-  Demonstrate through own actions a commitment to Health and Safety at work when undertaking work or observing others in the workplace

You will also need:

- Be self-motivated and self-managing
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Physical fitness as manual handling is an integral part of the role
- Full NZ Drivers License​
