When the Invercargill Licensing Trust closed it in June 2019 so that refurbishments could be completed and the building upgraded, one of their main goals was to create a “family restaurant” - a place suitable for children and adults alike.

 

To achieve this, a large dedicated children’s play area was incorporated into the design.

It was re-opened in December 2019 and now includes two venues: The Homestead Restaurant and The Ave Sports Bar.
